Altura Nutcracker Round 5 preview

- 23/06/2014 -

With Round 4 done and dusted, attention turns to the penultimate round of the Nutcracker series, this year located at Haggs Hill Swaledale in the North York Moors National Park.

We get the low down direct from the organisers:

And so it is, with 2 rounds to go of the 2014 series we find ourselves back in Swaledale and right at the heart of the Yorkshire Grand Depart route! Haggs Gill Farm, nestled on the edge of Grinton Moor neighbours one of the 3 major climbs of Stage 1 of the 2014 edition of Le Tour De France.

Even though this venue is a mere 2 miles from the venue for round 6, the terrain provides a vastly different experience. Located on the more-sheltered south side of the Swale valley, Adey’s all-new course will not disappoint. The usual lung-busting climbs will feature, together with some awe-inspiring Swaledale descents, sweet woodland singletrack and it wouldn’t be a Nutcracker without some super-gnarly sections thrown in for good measure!

The choice is yours, folks: race around in circles in a flat forest in Nottinghamshire, or top-up your gnar and serve yourself up an over-sized portion of sweet Swaledale trail riding by racing at the Nutcracker?!

Entries open now, follow the link to the usual British Cycling entry system at the top left-hand side of this page.
