Tom Stewart secures 6th Overall on GC at Dubai Tour

- 16/02/2017 -

Tom Stewart opened One Pro Cycling’s account last weekend at the Dubai Tour finishing in 6th place overall, the highest ranked British rider. No easy task on flat stages and in a field including Mark Cavendish and current National Champion Adam Blythe.

Tom set the tone for the race on Stage 1, making the day’s break and scooping up the time bonuses at the intermediate sprint. Following the cancellation of the Hatta Dam stage due to high winds, snatching these time bonuses proved a very tactical move and cemented his place firmly inside the top 10.

In 2017 One Pro are mainly going to be racing on the UK circuit at local races such as the Velo29 Altura Klondike and Velo29 Stockton GP as well as at continental level races such as the ever popular Tour de Yorkshire.

The Dubai Tour was also the first chance the team had to wear their new kit from Altura and helmets from Giro, with commentator Brian Smith mentioning how eye catching and good looking they are

It promises to be an exciting season on UK shores for One Pro Cycling.
